Having previously engaged Lieut. Governor John Neptune to go on this exploring Route with me- Sent word to him on the 18th to be in reading's[?] to start on the 20th- Also called on Capt. Holyoke who had also previously engaged to go.- On the 21st received information from Neptune that he could not be reddy, (having a Canoe to finish, ) for several days.-
