On motion of Mr. Clark, ordered that Moers's Clark. Severance and miller be a committee to receive and count the votes for secretary. Who having attended the duties assigned them reported that the whole number of votes of 23, all of which were for William Tafton who was declared duly elected. He signified his acceptance and took subscribed the oaths required by the constitution before James L. Child ESQ. Authorized by Dedimus Botestatem in presence of the senate.

On motion of Mr. Merrow, Ordered, that Mosser's Merrow, Wesley and Strickland be a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes for messengers who having at tended to the duties assigned them reported that the whole number of votes was 22. All of which were for Robert Martian, who was declared duty elected.

On motion of Mr. Talbot, Ordered, that the rules and orders of last year be the rules and orders of this board until the adoption of new ones..
