Petition of George Downs and others for extention of time for the Calais Railway Company to complete the same - - - read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Petition of Samuel Dow for remuneration for loss of land which he purchased of the State - - read and referred to the Committee on State Lands Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
The Secretary of State laid upon the table the Returns of votes given in the several towns and plantations in this State agreeably to a Resolve passed March 7th, 1834, entitled "Resolve proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State," together with an abstract of the votes, shewing the number and state of the votes, - - - read and referred to a Joint Select Committee, consisting, on the part of the Senate, of Messrs. Emmons, Burnham & Greene of Somerset, with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred, and Messrs. Cobb, O'Brien, Woodbury, Nickerson and Emerson are joined.
Bill to incorporate the town of Bradley (reported by Mr. Bartlett, from the Committee on Incorporation of Towns, on petition of Jeremiah B. Boynton and others) was read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Calais Bank was read the second time and, on motion of Mr Barnard, ordered to lie on the table.
