121 Petition of Robert H. Gardiner & others members of an Episcopal Church for an act of incorporation was referred in concurrence with the Senate to the committee on Parishes.
Mr. Hill of New Portland moved the following order "Ordered, That be a committee with such as the Senate may join to inquire into the expediency of so altering the law as that when a nonsuit in any of our Courts of Justice occurs through the ignorance or negligence of an Attorney of Law, that said Attorney shall be liable to pay all the costs of said nonsuit instead if his client. which was ordered to lie on the table.
An order came from the Senate, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of amending the second section of an additional act regulating the inspection of Beef & Pork passed March 28th 1831 and the House concurred.
An order came from the Senate instructing the committee on the Militia be directed to enquire into the expediency of so altering the Militia law passed March 8 1834 that persons may be required to do Military duty from the age of twenty one to thirty or thirty five instead of from the age of eighteen to forty - also of reducing the pay to soldiers from fifty to twenty five cents - and the House concurred.
