Dr Sir I herewith send you a copy of Furlough to Henry C. Smith of Leeds who was wounded in the battle before Richmond, has a ball in his Side and is now unable to do any thing - I have also fund to day Lucius G. Robins of Leeds Me who Enlisted in the 1st Maine Cavalry in October 1861 - He was taken with Lung Fever and Diptheria in January 1862 Had a Discharge made out and he says by Capt Boothby and sent to Washington as he says to be signed by someone since which time he has heard nothing from it - He now has some trouble in his throat and says he is unable to work more than half of the time I have ordered him to report to Augusta immediately Yours Truly E.B.
