General Orders Boston July 22d 1709
In order that a perfect Record may be kept hereafter of all Officers actually in Commifsion in the Militia of the Commonwealth; it is Required, that in all Returns of Officers elected, the Vacancies may be accounted for in the Collumn of "Remarks" in the Blanks prepared for that purpose, by inferting opposite the officers names returned, as follows Viz Vice A B Discharged, promoted, deceased, removed out of the County Ie as the case may be -- No Returns will be received hereafter without this necefsary addition -
