East Livermore Sept 7/62 Hon I. Washburn Jr Dr Sir I understand that Henry Y. Brown a Deserter from one of the Maine Regiments that I wrote you about some time ago being in New hampshire is comeing to North Turner where his Wife now lives - He has written her that he should come some time this week he also wrote that he had been arrested once and carried to Augusta had his trial and was discharged - I suppose that cannot be so and he only wrote it for his Wife to show to the people So that he might come home and not be disturbed - I have agreed with a man to come and let me Know when he gets home and if you say arrest him whether he shows a discharge or not I will do so if it is a possible thing -- If he has a discharge probably he did not get it honestly - Please let me know as soon as convenient if I shall arrest him if he shows a discharge Very Truly yours E.B.
