4.12--District Courts. Created by P.L. 1839, c. 373. Abolished by P.L. 1852, c. 246, § 1.

Duties--exercise original and exclusive jurisdiction of all civil actions where debt or damages does not exceed $200.00; original and concurrent jurisdiction with Supreme Judicial Court in actions of replevin, trespass, quare clausum fregit, ejectment, real actions and actions against towns.

4.13--Board of Commissioners to Settle Claims Between Certain Individuals and the State. Created by R. 1841, c. 141.

Duties--proceed, hear and examine on oath or affirmation every question of persons indebted for lands purchased from the State; make written report to Land Agent to direct him to settle and adjust such claims.
