42 Sunday Petitions Petitions[underlined] — of John Burns and others of Bristol for leave to erect a bridge from Rutherfords Island to the Maine land — of Seward Porter and others for the exclusive privilege of navigating the waters of Kennebec River with Steam boats for a certain period — were severally read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

ditto. Petitions[underlined] of John Carlton for a pension — and also of Christopher Atkinson for a pension were severaly read and referred to the committee on applications from sick + wounded soldiers.

Committee to contract for the printing[?] of the State An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Tallman and leaven with such as the House may join, a committee to contract with some person or persons for such printing as may be required for the use of the State the ensuing year — which was concurred in by the House and Messrs Scammon[?] of Saco, Dunlap of Brunswick and Riggs of Georgetown were joined
