Ordered, That Messrs March, Perry & Read be a committee to enquire if any provision is necessary to ensure a convenient passage for teams & travellers on the Ice on all or any of the Rivers & streams where Ferries are established within this State - read & passed.

Report on petition of Congregational Society of Shapleigh granting an order of notice, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence - and the House nonconcurred and recommitted the subject. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered that the committee who have under consideration the petition of Simeon Waters & others inhabts of Livermore, be instructed to enquire as to the expediency of establishing a more efficient system of Courts of Sessions. Read & passed - Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Charles Gooding for authority to change his name - was read & referred to the committee on change of name.

[Daniel Rose letters respecting States Prison -]

A letter was received from Daniel Rose Esqr Agent for building the States Prison communicating the progress of the building, expenditures &c together with sundry other papers on the subject which in Senate were read & referred to the committee on the subject of the States Prison & sent down for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Report of the committee on the militia &c referring the petition of William R Ware to the committee on accounts, came down accepted for concurrence & the House concurred.

A communication was received from Elias Thomas signifying his acceptance of the Office of Treasurer
