[Bill - Gardiner Lyceum]

Bill for the benefit of the Gardiner Lyceum - was read a 2d time & refused a passage to a 3d reading - whereupon Mr Hutchinson moved that the Bill be indefinitely postponed which motion prevailed - 66 pro. 62 con.

Mr Ruggles gave notice that he should move a reconsideration of the last vote at 10 oclock tomorrow.

[Report - Falmouth]

Mr Sanborne, agreeably to previous notice moved a reconsideration of the votes of 24th inst. by which the House concurred in accepting the Report on the petition of town of Falmouth - also report on the petition of Alpheus Shaw - which did not prevail.

[Bill - Fish &c]

Bill to prevent the destruction of Fish called Salmon & alewives on Dennys River - was read a 3d time & passed with an amendment at A to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - town meetings &c]

Bill additional to an act regulating towns, town meetings & the choice of town Officers - was read a 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading & referred to the committee on Bills in 3d reading & their powers were enlarged.

[Report - unnecessary Costs]

The committee to whom the subject was referred, reported that it is not expedient to pass any additional act to prevent unnecessary costs - The report accepted in the Senate came down for concurrence and the House concurred.
