[Costs in Criminal prosecutions &c -]

Sundry documents relating to costs in criminal prosecutions in the several Counties, came from the Senate referred to the committee on so much of the Governors message as relates to costs in criminal prosecutors, for concurrence - and the House concurred.

[Bill - Highways]

Bill, entitled an act additional to an act directing the method of laying out and making provision for the repair and amendment of Highways, which passed this House the 21st inst. came from the Senate with amendments for concurrence - The House referred the subject for concurrence - The House referred the subject to Messrs Elden, Sturdivant & Adams of P.

The committee on engrossed bills reported duly engrossed Bills, to incorporate the South Berwick Bank - to incorporate the East River Sluice Company - additional to an act to incorporate the first Congregational Society in Eastport - to incorporate the proprietors of Stearns pond Canal - to alter the time holding the Court of Sessions in the County of Hancock - to incorporate Somerset Lodge - were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Communication was received from the Treasurer, with a tender of a bond conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his office, which, in Senate was referred to the committee on Banks & Banking & sent down for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Report on the petition of Rufus K Lane & others, that the same be referred to the governor & council, came down accepted for concurrence - and the House concurred.

[Bill - Saco Lodge]

Bill to incorporate the Saco Lodge, was read a 1st & 2d time and Tuesday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
