Petition of Barret Potter, Judge of Probate for the County of Cumberland praying for an increase of salary - was read & referred to Messrs Russell, Cobb & Slemmons.

[Committee filled]

Mr Ingalls of Bridgton was appointed on the Committee on finance instead of Mr Brown of Waldoboro who has obtained leave of absence.

[Report - Convicts]

The committee on the subject of revising the law relating to the punishment of convicts reported a reference of the subject to a select committee of both Houses - The Senate accepted the report & appointed for the Select committee on their part Messrs Dunlap & Dennet - The House concurred & Messrs Williams Abbot & Weeks were joined.
