[Resolve - authorizing a tax on Pews in Baptist Meeting House in Bath -]

Resolve authorizing a tax on the pews & seats in the first Baptist Meeting House in Bath, was read & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Rep. - William Norwood]

The Report on the petition of William Norwood, granting leave to withdraw, accepted in both branches & laid on the table by virtue of an order of the House this day was on motion referred to Messrs Merrill of Gorham, Burr of Mercer & Weed of Knox.

[Report - Shingles &c]

The committee to consider the expediency of amending the act "regulating the admeasurement of boards & regulating the tale of shingles, clapboards, Hoops & Staves & for other purposes", reported a Bill - report accepted.

[Bill regulating survey of Lumber &c]

Bill regulating the survey & admeasurement of Lumber was read a 1st time & referred to the next Legislature.

[Bill - jail in Washington County -]

Resolve respecting the erection of a Gaol in Washington County, was read a 2d time & indefinitely postponed.

[Committee to ascertain if Governor has paid any thing to Adjt Genl]

On motion of Mr Pike, Ordered, that Messrs Pike, White & Prentiss be a committee to enquire if any allowance has been made to the Adjt General or Acting Quarter Master General, by the Governor & Council for the past year - read & passed

[Bill - to district State for Rep. to Congress -]

The committee on the bill to divide the State into Districts for the choice of Representatives in the Congress of the United States, reported the same with amendments - The question on accepting the report was taken by yeas & nays & decided in the affirmative as follows yeas 92 nays 45 - and before a decision upon the passage of the Bill the House adjourned until three oclock this Afternoon -
