Please find accompanying duplicate receipts for articles purchased for our Hospital, amounting to fifty nine (59) dollars, which amount I have paid and you will please transmit the same amount, at your earliest convenience, to R. S. Morrison Bangor, on whom I draw for the money expended as above. You will perceive that I have not purchased all the articles specified in the list sent you, as I have been enabled, by great effort, to get a part of them of U.S. variety [swords?]. I think I have made great improvement in the accommodations for the sick since I arrived here, but have incurred an unnecessary expense, and here in passing I will add that notwithstanding
