Your last letter came duly to hand am glad to hear that there is a prospect of my regiment being speedily filled up. If I do say it I consider it worthy of an increase as to numbers, but I know the difficulty that has heretofore [?] the recruiting of regts already in the field. I shall forward by express tomorrow the blanks sent by Adj. Gen'l Hodsdon carefully filled out, [?] the changes and the present state of my regt. up to date, as to a chaplain I have come to the conclusion that I had perhaps better wait a little longer as I
