� Certificate of Discharge.
I hereby Certify [bold], That Moses Kilgore [handwritten] of Lovell [handwritten] Maine, a Private [handwritten] of Captain David R. Ripley [handwritten] Company of Riflemen [handwritten] , in the Detachment commanded by Col. Orison Ripley [handwritten] of the drafted Militia of Maine, was born in Lovell [handwritten] in the State of Maine [handwritten] is aged 22 [handwritten] years, 5 [handwritten] feet and 9 [handwritten] inches high, dark [handwritten] complexion, dark [handwritten] eyes, dark [handwritten] hair, and by profession, when called into actual service by the State of Maine for the protection of the Northeastern Frontier, a Farmer [handwritten]
He was called into actual service by order of the Governor of Maine, and rendezvoused at Augusta [handwritten] Maine, on the sixth [handwritten] day of March [handwritten] A.D. 1839, being drafted from Captain Parris Walker's [handwritten] Company of Riflemen[handwritten] in the Third [handwritten] Regiment, Second [handwritten] Brigade, and Sixth [handwritten] Division of the Militia of Maine, and then residing at Lovell [handwritten] in said State; and having faithfully and honestly served the period required, is now entitled to honorable discharge.
The above named Moses Kilgore Jr. [handwritten] has monthly pay due him from the sixth [handwritten] day of March [handwritten] 1839, when last paid by [stricken] to the eighth of March, both inclusive [handwritten] to include this day; [stricken] and he is also entitled to pay and subsistence for travel from his residence to the place of rendezvous, and from the place of discharge to his home, being 160 [handwritten] miles, and whatever other allowances are authorized by law, to soldiers so discharged. He is also entitled to pay for clothing during the period of his service: or he has drawn the following articles of clothing, to wit: [blank] the pro ratia excess, if any, to be deducted, or the deficiency, if any, to be paid for.
