117 Monday February 2nd 1835. Met according to adjournment.

On motion by Mr. O'Brien of Brunswick, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of reporting a bill granting to enginemen the same amount of money per annum as is allowed to officers & privates performing services in the militias. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Allen Lambard & others to be incorporated by the name of the "Augusta High School" was read & referred to the committee on Literature. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Seth Thompson & others for a more equal, speedy and economical administration of our Laws.

On motion by Mr. Holmes of Alfred, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so altering the law in regard to Dower that in cases where a widow renounces the provisions made for her by will & claims her dower, such claims shall extend to personal as well as real estate of the testator. Ordered, that the same Committee be instructed to inquire into the expediency of abolishing or modifying tenancy by the "Curtesy - Sent up for concurrence.
