On motion by Mr. Morrill of Limerick, Ordered, That the joint standing committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by law that a majority of the owners of houses for public worship may have power to incorporate themselves into a body politic by giving due notice to all owners of pews in said houses who are disposed to become a body politic and to give the majority of said Corporations the entire management & control of said Houses. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve providing for the purchase and distribution of Greenlief's Reports, was read once & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 2d reading.

Petition of Simeon Matthews & others to be incorporated by the name of the Waterville Liberal Institute was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to protect family burying grounds, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

A communication was received from the Secretary of State, transmitting the returns of the Inspector of Fish within this State &c, which was read & referred in concurrence with the Senate to the Committee who have the Inspection Laws under consideration.

The Committee on State Lands to who was referred the order of January 14th for enquiry into the expediency of repealing the Resolve for establishing a Board of Internal Improvements passed Feby 28, 1834, reported that legislation on the subject is inexpedient - and the report was laid on the table.
