Petition of John R. Stinson 2d for leave to change his name was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Bill to incorporate the Vassalboro Academy, was taken up and referred to the committee on Literary Institutions. Sent up for concurrence.

Mr. Lowell of East Machias has leave of absence from and after the 20th of February during the remainder of the session.

The Report of the Committee on Banks & Banking to whom was referred the order to inquire into the expedience of providing by law, that the Acts incorporating Banks passed prior to the 17th of March 1831 should, under certain contingencies, be placed under the control of the Legislature in the same manner as are similar acts passed since that time, that legislation on the subject is inexpedient, was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Report on the petition of the Properties of the Baptist Parsonage in Shapleigh, that legislation is inexpedient, was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Report on the petition of Henry W. Fuller praying that the Administrators of John Pitts late of Belgrade, deceased, may be authorized to execute a deed, granting leave to withdraw, was read and referred accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
