Mr. Jarvis, said report was amended by striking out the words "first day of March," and inserting in lieu thereof the words, "tenth day of March" and accepted as thus amended. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Jarvis, from the Joint Select Committee to which was referred the message of the Governor communicating the report and Resolutions of the Legislatures of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama on the incendiary proceedings of the Abolitionists in the non-slaveholding States, made a Report and submitted Resolutions, relating to the description of Slavery in the State of Maine, unanimously adopted by said Committee -severally read and on motion of Mr. Merrow ordered that 1000 copies of the Report and Resolutions be printed for the use of the Legislature.

Bill to regulate the execution of the Punishment of Death came up. The House insisting on their former vote passing the same to be engrossed, propose a Conference, and appoint as Conferees on their part Messrs Holmes of Alfred, Foster of Pembroke & Hobbs of Eastport. The Senate insist on their vote indefinitely postponing the same and concur in
