Dr Sir.

Robert D Salisbury a private in Co B 4th Reg claims to be absent by reason of discharge dated Washington D.C. July 19 1861 "by reason of General debility thro Rubiola" signed R J Thomas, Surgeon U.S. Hospital, health pretty good.

Ellison O Dodge a private in Co A 13th Reg. claims to be absent by reason of discharge. He states that his papers are in hands of Maj. Gardiner at Augusta: (health pretty good.)

Samuel (or) Simon Higgins has not returned, is in hospital sick, 4th Reg Co. H.

One Albert G. Salisbury of Co B, 4th Me Reg has been here and left some four weeks since for Magalene fishing from what I can learn he is no doubt a deserter [word underlined]. have made arrangements to secure him when he returns__
