Dear Mother I seat myself once more to write you to let you know that I am well and hope that this will find you the same I have sum good news to write this time our regt with with [crossed out] one other regt of cavalry and two of colerd infantry started for palard a week ago yesterday it is sixty miles they returned yesterday, they had five diferant Battels our regt had one killed and five wounded thear was ninty killed wounded and mising, in all on our side
