1181 Q.(cont.) up to the discharge of their duties. A. I never observed any lack of vigilance, and supposed he was vigilant and competent in that department. he is a very quiet man and I think that is one of the excellences for that position. It would not do to have a noisey man in there skipping about and stirring up by nervousness the whole institution. I thought the superintendent had some most excellent qualifications or capacities for that department
