Duties--exercise original and exclusive jurisdiction of all civil actions arising within the counties, excepting such actions wherein the Supreme Judicial Court or Justices of the Peace have original jurisdiction, and excepting all actions of replevin, trespass, quare clausum fregit, and ejectment and real actions; jurisdiction of all such offenses, crimes, and misdemeanors formerly cognizable by the Circuit Courts of Common Pleas; appellate jurisdiction of all civil actions and of all crimes and offenses where an appeal may be made to the Circuit Court of Common Pleas, from the judgment or sentence of any Justice of the Peace; authorized to give judgment, award execution, administer all necessary oaths and affirmations.
