[Committee of Elections]

Pike of Frankfurt were appointed a committee on Elections.

[Message to inform Senate of organization]

Mr McCobb was charged with a message to the Senate informing them of the organization of the House by the election of Benjamin Ames for their Speaker and James L Child for their Clerk.

[Same to Governor]

Mr Vance was charged with a similar message to the Governor and Council

[D. Rose. President & Charles B Smith Sec of Senate]

Mr McDonald came down from the Senate with a message to inform this House that the Senate had made choice of Daniel Rose for their President & Charles B Smith for their Secretary.

[Committee on Rules & Orders]

Ordered that Messrs Adams of Portland, Quinnam of Wiscasset and Crowell of Waterville be a committee to prepare a system of rules & orders for this House, and that the rules & orders of the last year be in the meanwhile observed.

[Member qualified]

Nathaniel Millikin of Lincolnville appeared was qualified and took his seat as a Representative.
