Message from the Senate. In Senate March 8th 1821 [President of Senate sic & not able to attend] [Joseph E. Foxcroft chosen pro. tem.] The Senate respectfully acquaint the House of Representatives that the indisposition of their Hon. President - preventing his attendance at the Senate Board this day, the Senate have elected Joseph E. Foxcroft Esq President Pro. tempore of their Board, and thus organized are proceeding on public on public business. Read & placed on file.

[Rep. - to report of one person can hold office of Sheriff & Justice of Peace] Committee appointed to consider whether a person ought to hold at the same time the office of Justice of Peace and Sheriff - Report that by the 3 art. of the Constitution, the case seems to be explicitly settled, and therefore that no law on this subject is necessary.
