[Committee - further compensation to adg & Gen & Sec of State -]

Messrs Anderson & Wellington with such as the house may join a committee to consider whether any further compensation ought to be allowed to the Secretary of State or adjutant general for services for the past year - and the House concurred & messrs Joseph Adams of Portland, Hutchinson & Winter were joined

Bill respecting marks on sheep, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Report - Jason Thurston]

Report on the petition of Jason Thurston & als, referring the same to the committee on New Trials was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence

[Resolve - Eliz. Caper]

Resolve on the petition of Elizabeth Caper, was read & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

[Report - State tax]

The Committee on Finance reported that it is necessary to raise a State tax of $ 45120 - report accepted.

[Bill - depositions]

Bill additional to the act prescribing the mode of taking depositions was read once & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading.

[Resolve - Debates of Convention]

The committee on engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed. Resolve, for purchasing reports of debates in the Maine conventions and the same on motion of Mr Sturdivant was indefinitely postponed.

[Resolve - Penobscot Indians]

Resolve in favor of the Penobscot Indians was read twice & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
