Petition of Mason Shaw to be reimbursed the amount paid by him as a duty on being qualified as Clerk of the Judicial Courts in Hancock County - was read & referred to the committee on New trials - Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Moses Merrill of Turner to be paid for the transportation of Powder from Portland - was read & referred to the committee on accounts. Sent up for concurrence.
[Compensation of Members]
An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs McDonald & Miller with such as the House may join a committee to enquire what alteration ought to be made in an act fixing the compensation of the member of the Council, Senate & House of Representatives - & the House concurred & Messrs Joseph Adams of Portland, Russell & Williams were joined.

Bill fixing the time of holding the Court of Common Pleas in the County Cumberland - was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
[Bill - tenure of offices]
Bill to limit the tenure of certain civil Officers, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
[Bill - bounds of Monroe]
Bill altering the bounds of the town of Monroe, was read a first & second time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
