A message was recurred from the Senate informing this House of their concurrence in the amendments proposed by the House to the engrossed Bill respecting Public Shows & exhibitions and also that the Senate in consequence of the indisposition of the President, had elected John McDonald Esq as President pro. tem. to act during such indisposition.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed, Bill - to incorporate the Winthrop Bank - to incorporate the Proprietors of Calais Bridge - altering the time of holding the Court of Sessions in the County { of Washington -} - fixing the time of holding the Court of Common Pleas in Cumberland - were severally passed to be enacted. The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Resolve, disapproving the amendment to the Constitution proposed by the State of Georgia - granting the right appeal in certain cases to Archelaus Lewis & John Gordon - authorizing the Governor, to negotiate with the Penobscot Indian for there islands - authorizing the Governor to open a road through the States land in Washington Co - in favor of James J Boyd were severally finally passed.
