[Bill - Militia]

Ordered, that a message be sent to the Senate requesting them to send to this House the Bill explanatory of an act to organize, govern & discipline the militia of this State - read & passed.

[Message from Senate regarding - the petition of Phillip Morrell & als]

[Sent up]

A message was received from the Senate requesting the House to send up to that body the report on the petition of Phillip Morrell & others and on sundry other petitions praying for a new County west of Penobscot River, together with all the accompanying papers. The committee of this House to whom they were referred then laid said papers on the Speakers table, whereupon the House ordered the papers to be sent up, & they were sent up accordingly.

The Secretary of the Senate immediately returned and informed the House that he communicated the foregoing message by mistake & that no such request had been made by the Senate - whereupon the House recalled the papers & reconsidered their vote directing them to be sent up.

[Bill - Beef Pork &c]

Agreeably to notice Mr Hodgman moved a reconsideration of the vote passing the Bill additional respecting the inspection of Beef, Pork & Hogs Lard to be engrossed which motion prevailed -

Bill additional respecting the inspection of Beef, Pork, &c was amended at A & passed to be engrossed as thus amended. Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - Militia]

Bill explanatory of an act to organize, govern & discipline the Militia of this State - was taken up - the vote passing the same
