Mr Luther T Mudgett of Stockton and now in Company B, 2d Maine Reg would like to have a commission as Lieutenant in the 9th Reg if he can get one. my son writes that he is a first rate man brave and steady and I know him well enough to Recommend him for a place of that kind (which I do) and if you can do anything for him please do it
