47 Report on the petition of Moses Hodgdon & als granting an order of notice, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Committee on the Judiciary to take into consideration the expediency of requiring all County reads hereafter located to be opened & made at the expense of the several Counties through which they pass, and the House concurred.

Agreeably to assignment the two branches met in convention when Alanson Mellen & Amos Patten Esq Counsellors elect, came in and took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of the duties of their office.

Report on the petition of Thomas Johnson & others, granting leave to withdraw, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence & the House concurred.

Petition of Varnum Cram & als praying that the rank of Light Infantry & other Light Companies when paraded with Regiments Battalions may be defined by law, was read & referred to the committee on the Militia and Military affairs. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Oliver Perkins for an additional pension, was read and referred to the committee on sick & wounded soldiers. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Samuel Chase & als & report thereon, taken from the last years files & sent to this House by request thereof, was referred to the Committee on the incorporation of Parishes & other Religious Societies &. Sent up for concurrence.
