Bill additional to the several acts for the preservation of Fish in Penobscot River & Bay & the several streams emptying into the same, laid on the table by Mr. Bond of Bucksport, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill to incorporate the town of Oxford was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill additional to an act to establish a Court of Common Pleas, laid on the table by Mr. Bond of Bucksport, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
Resolve authorizing the Penobscot Tribe of Indians, to sell Smith Island, was read twice & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
A message was received from the Senate by Mr. Hutchinson their Secretary, Proposing a convention of both Houses at 12 oclock today in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of choosing a Counsellor for Oxford district to supply the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Reuel Washburn - and the House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.
