Dear Sir I will thank you to say to the Gov. that I will accept the appointment conversed about when you were here. On condition that he has made no other arrangement and is now [underlined] agreeable to his feelings and wishes and in his opinion is proper. The Gov. requested me to inform him on this subject, and I have taken the liberty to do it through you, we have no elect- ion here, neither will there be any in the town [?] , and I doubt very much whether Mr. [?] is elected. Cushman has only one vote against him in 10 towns. I have nothing new here to say to you, so will say nothing Your Friend & very humble Srvt. R Howard
