246 A communication was receive from the Governor [see appendix page 354] transmitting a letter from Hon Ether Shepley enclosing a communication from the Secretary of War in relation to the application of this State for a survey of a rout for a Rail Road from some point on the seaboard to the Canada Borders - read and sent up.

The special Message of the Governor laid upon the Speakers table by the Secretary of State yesterday, was called up, read, and referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Report on the account of the town of Scarboro granting leave to withdraw was recommitted in concurrence with the Senate

Leave to withdraw was reported on the petition of the Selectmen of the town of Avon - read and accepted Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to change the name of certain persons, was read 1st and 2nd time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading

Bill to incorporate the St Croix Company, was read a 3rd time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

On motion by Mr Gowen of Shapleigh,

 Ordered, That the Senate be requested to take from their files the petition of the Proprietors of the Baptist Parsonage in Shapleigh with the accompanying papers, and send them to this House.

Resolve in favor of the town of Liberty, was read a 3rd time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with Senate
