Petition of Jacob Drummond and others for an Act regulating the driving of logs in Kenduskeag Stream -- read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.
Petition of Ebenezer French and others, Stage Proprietors for an Act of incorporation -- read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Petition of the City of Bangor praying for an Act additional to the Act incorporating the City of Bangor -- read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, in concurrence.
Agreeably to assignment the Senate proceeded to the choice of Maj. General for the fourth Division of the Militia of this State to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Major General Abner B. Thompson. Messrs. Greene of York, Read and Latham were appointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes; who, having attended the duties assigned them, reported that the whole number of votes given is 22. Necessary to a choice 12. Benjamin Burgess has 17. Mark Garcelon " 4 Eliphalet D. Bray " 1 Benjamin Burgess was declared duly elected on the part of the Senate, Major General of the fourth Division, in concurrence, of which the House were informed by message.
