General Orders Head Quarters Boston, Feb'y 24, 1794

Two Boards of Officers having been heretofore appointed to sit in Pownalboro for the purpose of considering and Reporting upon the Claims of Rank of the three Senior Regiments in the Second Brigade of the Eighth Division Viz.

The Regiments at present Commanded by Colonels Brewer, [Cowper?] and Stillman, and the said Board having, from various causes, failed in the object of their appointment, the Commander in Chief has thought proper to appoint another board for the said purpose to consist of the following Officers, Viz.

President Colonel Ezekiel Pattee of the 5th Regiment, 1 Brigade, 8 Division

Members Colonel Henry Sewall, Dep[uty] Adj[utant] General to the 8 Division & Colonel Robert Gage of 2 Reg., 1 Brigade, 8 Division.

A Majority of the Board shall be a quorum to act on the business; and Major General Lithgow will cause the above officers, and all persons concerned to attend at the time and place herein appointed.

The Board will act upon the best evidence which they shall be able to obtain, and will Report what members each of the said Regiments ought to sustain in the Brigade. The Board will sit for the above purpose in Pownalboro on the third day of June next at some convenient house near to where the Court of Common Pleas shall sit in said town on the same day By order of the Commander in Chief
