Report, on an order of the 20th on relation to an investment of the School & Indian funds & was referred in concurrence with the Senate to the Select Committee who have that under consideration.

Resolve in favor of certain officers & soldiers of the Revolutionary War &c, was recommitted in concurrence with the Senate, with instructions.

Petition of William Frost & others for the abolition of capital punishment - was read & referred in concurrence with the Senate to the Committee on that subject.

On motion by Mr Holmes of Alfred Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of making further provision where persons have made out or presented their claim for military pension Lands, but have died previous to the location, & of explaining any other doubts in regard to said land. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion by Mr Lippincott of Columbia, Ordered, That the Committee on Literature &c &c, be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing for the payment to such towns whose officers have heretofore neglected to make their school returns, such portions of the School funds as was appropriated for the purpose and that they be further instructed to enquire into the expediency of imposing a penalty for neglect of duty on town & plantation officers who are required by law to make such returns. Sent up for concurrence.
