To all whom it may concern

Know Ye, That Augustus White a Corporal of Capt Charles S. Emerson Co H. 10th Regiment of Infantry who was Enrolled on the 10th day of September 1861 to serve Two years is hereby Discharged from the service of the U.S. this Second day of June 1862 at Williamsport by reason of Disability (No object to his being re-enlisted is Known to Exist)

Said Augustus White was born in Auburn in the State of Maine is 19 years of age 5 feet 9 inches high Dark Complexion Grey Eyes Dark hair and by occupation when Enrolled a Farmer - Given at Near Front Royal Va this 17th day of June 1862 Col Geo. L. Beal Com 10t Maine Vols 1st Brigade 1st Division Dept [t underlined] of Shenandoah Vols

The above named Augustus White was Discharged by reason of a Rheumatic Complain which rendered him unfit for service - He is now able to do a good days work E.B. Lovejoy
