I have to day found Mr Samuel L. Brown who Enlisted in the 10th Maine Regt Vols on the 10th day of October 1861 under Capt Moses M. Robinson Was Discharged on the 9th day of April 1862 at Ship Island by reason of Kidney Complaint - Discharged was approved by Maj Gen Butler - He has sent his Discharge to Boston to get his bounty and I herewith send you a copy of Receipt for his Discharge - Mr Brown is now unable to do any work - E.B. Lovejoy
