         September 27th. 1862

Col. Jackson's appointment as Brig. Gen reached our office this forenoon. The Col. offered me the Adjt. Generalship and I accept.

     Nov 8th received appointment

as Capt. & A.A.G. and sent letter of acceptance to Adjutant General of the army- Rodgers swore me in.
