This .pdf document consists of two closely similar petitions, one from Cornville and the other from Athens.
The recipient is William King (1768-1852), who was a member of the Massachusetts Senate in 1807-11, and the first Governor of Maine in 1820-21.
The subject of these petitions is Lt. Richard Sawtell (1769-1838). He was born in Shirley, MA, and married in MA in 1796. He was evidently a militia officer, had a large family, and died in Norridgewock.
