Bangor May 1, 1859 To the Governor and Council of the State of Maine I would respectfully recommend the appointment of Albert Richardson Esq of Old Town, to the Office of Agent for the Penobscot Tribe of Indians - I beleive Mr Richardson would discharge the duties of the Office honestly and faithfully and that his appointment would give general satisfaction to our friend sand be very acceptable to the public- Respectfully Jefferson Chamberlain
