Moreover, its pathogenesis is still not elucidated. Detailed transcriptomic analysis of physiological and retained placenta may bring profound insight in the pathogenesis of the disease. The aim of the study was to compare the transcriptome of the retained and physiologically released placenta as well as biological pathways and processes in order to determine the possible pathogenesis of the disease. Samples of the endometrium and the allantochorion were taken within 2 h after parturition from control mares (n = 3) and mares with RFM (n = 3). RNA sequencing was performed with the use of all samples and mRNA expression of chosen genes was validated with Real Time PCR. Analysis of RNA-seq identified 487 differentially expressed genes in the allantochorion and 261 in the endometrium of control and RFM mares (p less then 0.0001). Within genes that may be important in the release of fetal membranes and were differentially expressed, our report pinpointed BGN, TIMP1, DRB, CD3E, C3, FCN3, CASP3, BCL2L1. Gene ontology analysis showed possible processes which were altered in RFM that are apoptosis, inflammatory-related processes, and extracellular matrix metabolism and might be involved in the pathogenesis of RFM. This is the first report on the transcriptome of RFM and physiologically released placenta in mares.

The aim of this systematic review was to ascertain whether weight loss through dietary interventions has the additional effect of ameliorating depressive symptoms in obese patients.
We systematically searched three databases (Pubmed, Medline, Embase) for longitudinal clinical trials testing a dietary intervention in people with obesity and depression or symptoms of depression.
Twenty-four longitudinal clinical studies met the eligibility criteria with a total of 3244 included patients. Seventeen studies examined the effects of calorie-restricted diets and eight studies examined dietary supplements (two studies examined both). Only three studies examined people with a diagnosis of both obesity and depression. The majority of studies showed that interventions using a calorie-restricted diet resulted in decreases in depression scores, with effect sizes between ≈0.2 and ≈0.6. The results were less clear for dietary supplements.
People with obesity and depression appear to be a specific subgroup of depressed patients in which calorie-restricted diets might constitute a promising personalized treatment approach. The reduction of depressive symptoms may be related to immunoendocrine and psychosocial mechanisms.

However, studies investigating the influence of the PP are currently lacking in these patients. Retrospectively registered.Major efforts for the advancement of tubular-shaped implant fabrication focused recently on the development of 3D printing methods that can enable the fabrication of complete devices in a single printing process. However, the main limitation of these solutions is the use of non-biocompatible polymers. Therefore, a new technology for obtaining hybrid implants that employ polymer extrusion and electrophoretic deposition is applied. The fabricated structures are made of two layers polycaprolactone skeleton and chitosan-hydroxyapatite electrodeposit. Both of them can be functionalized by incorporation of mechanical or biological cues that favor ingrowth, guidance, and correct targeting of axons. The electrodeposition process is conducted at different voltages in order to determine the influence of this process on the structural, chemical, and mechanical properties of implants. In addition, changes in mechanical properties of implants during their incubation in phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.4) at 37 °C up to 28 days are examined. The presented technology, being low-cost and relatively simple, shall find a broad scope of applications in customized nerve tissue engineering.We report the ring core fiber spliced with single mode fiber and no core fiber which is used for temperature and refractive index (RI) sensing. The Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is formed with this kind of sandwich fiber structure and the maximum extinction ratio of the interference spectra reaches 27 dB with the free spectra range of 12 nm. The MZI fiber sensor is applied for temperature sensing with the sensitivity of 69 pm/°C and 0.051 dB/°C. The RI sensitivity reaches 182.07 dB/RIU and -31.44 nm/RIU with the RI ranging from 1.33 to 1.38. The RI value can be directly demodulated with the interference dip intensity which shows insensitivity to temperature. The demodulation of temperature can be achieved by using the linear equations between dip wavelength shift with the variation of temperature and RI.
