[Committee - assessment of taxes &c]

Ordered that Messrs Quinnam, Fitch & Fuller be a committee to enquire if any alterations are necessary in the laws providing for the assessment and collection of taxes with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read and passed.

[Committee - Jurors]

Ordered that Messrs Abbot, Crosby & Curtis be a committee to enquire what alterations, if any, are necessary in an act regulating the selection, empannelling [empaneling] and service of Jurors, with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read and passed.

[one session each day until &c]

Message from the Senate by Mr Smith, their Secretary,

"Mr Speaker,

The Senate propose that the Legislature shall have but one session each day until otherwise ordered" - The House concurred in the proposition and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.

[Committee - on fixing time for Assessors to return their Certificates]

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Witham & Steele a committee with such &c &c to take into consideration the suggestions of the Treasurer with regard to the propriety of establishing a day on or before which it shall be the duty of Assessors to return their certificates to the Office of the Treasurer of this State with leave to report by bill or otherwise - The House concurred and appointed Messrs [blank] on their part.

[Committee - removal of James M Rogers from Office]

Ordered that Messrs Dunlap, Purrington of B, & Shaw be a committee with such as the Senate may join to take into consideration the expediency of addressing the Governor & Council for the removal of James M Rogers Esq from each and every office,
