[Proposing convention to fill vacancies at Senate board]
Message from the Senate by Mr Smith their Secretary Mr Speaker, The Senate propose a convention of both branches at 10' Oclock today to fill the vacancies at the Senate Board - The House concurred & the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.

Petition of Willaim Norwood to be indemnified for damage done to his timber and lands , by the Passamaquoddy tribe of Indians - was read & referred to Messrs Burgin Spring of Saco, & Howard.
[Committee - harbours & shores -]
[Harbor masters -]
Ordered that Messrs Quinam, Brown of Waldoboro' & Winter be a committee to consider what , if any alterations are necessary in the law for the protection of harbours & shores passed March 2d 1821 & also to consider the expediency of authorizing towns to choose or appoint harbor masters or overseas of Shores & harbours & report by bill or otherwise - read & passed.

Agreeably to assignment at 10 o'clock the two branches assembled in the Representatives Chamber & proceeded by ballot to fill the vacancies at the Senate Board - and on counting the ballots for a Senate for Cumberland County - it appeared the whole number given in was 153 - necessary to a choice 77 - that Robert P Dunlap Esq has 108 & was chosen - for Lincoln County - it appeared the whole number given in was 155 necessary to choice 78 that Jonas Wheeler Esq had 155 and Joel Miller 117 and Parker McCobb Esq 91 and they were severally elected - for Somerset County the whole
