26 [1825 January 8] [Petitions referred] Petition of William Talcott and others for a division of the town of New Vineyard, and Petition of Asa Cole and others, for a new town, were severally read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Towns. Sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

Petition of Thomas Leigh to be incorporated into a Manufacturing Company, was read and referred to the Committee on Applications for Manufacturing Companies. Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.

[Committee on the Act concerning Highways] Order of the House that Messrs. Francis , Goodenow, Small, Benson & Spring, with such as the Senate may join, be a Committee to enquire, what alterations, if any, are necessary to be made in the several Laws of this State on the subject of laying out and making highways, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, came up for concurrence, was read, concurred and Messrs. Scamman & Shepard were joined.
