Appleton of Mount Desert in the County of Hancock do honestly testify & say that, on or about the month of September 1777, according to the best of my recollection I inlisted into the Revolutionary war in Capt Perkins Company & Col Greenes Regt., O , ( of the State of Pensylvania) for three years : I joined my Regt at Philadelphia: I was at the Battle at Brunswick: at the Battle of the Brandy Wine : at which place I was taken prisoner and to Philadelphia: I made my escape from that place :
