[page 805] very troublesome, requiring great patience. I suspected that these were not injuries that she inflicted upon herself, and I dont think they were. I have seen a great many marks upon the limbs that I thought could not be otherwise. I did not report these to Dr. Harlow because I didnt want to make trouble, and I was not sure at that time but that I might be wrong. While I was there the attendant used to be absent some times. I remember once of going and being let in by another attendant into her room, when I found her in a condition where she was liable to suffer greatly with cold. And I threw a sheet over her and tried to find the attendant. And by the watch it was 25 minutes before she came. I called and I could not raise her any way. And I held the patient for 25 minutes before that attendant came and assisted in putting her in the right condition. That of course led me to feel a little distrustful. I can not remember the order of these things, nor the time exactly, because I didn't propose to change my mind with them
